Understanding the Honey Badger:

People with the Badger personality are nothing if not driven. These individuals know what they want and they are not afraid to go after it. In fact, they tend to have the confidence, initiative, and motivation to pursue and get what they want. Badgers have very ‘big’ personalities. They tend to have an opinion about most things and typically do not shy away from telling you their opinion. Furthermore, they are un-phased if you disagree with their opinion. People with the Badger personality type can step in and take charge of most situations. In the wild, an actual badger is known to make itself at home in another animal's den; individuals with this personality type are much the same. They walk into a situation or environment and act as though they are the one in charge. Badgers are all about the WHAT? What’s the point, what are we doing, etc. They are big picture, bottom-line thinkers, sometimes struggling to notice the details. This mindset is reflected by their communication style. It can be described as direct, blunt, brief, pointed, and even rude at times. Badgers do not typically feel the need to filter anything they say. In fact, if you question them, they are likely to tell you “it’s not rude, it’s just the truth.” Individuals with this personality type are confident, decisive, and driven to action. This frequently leads to somewhat impulsive decisions. This confidence also lends itself to strong competitiveness. Badgers sense competition whether it was interpreted or not. They do not view conflict as a problem and will not back down from an argument. These individuals work hard and they play hard. They live in a state of fast forward and NOW! Once something is in the past, they see no reason to revisit those topics, and may often truly forget the event. This can sometimes make those interacting with them feel as though their feelings don’t matter because the Badger sees no benefit in discussing it and they may be oblivious of how much they hurt you. They sometimes see emotions as senseless and will minimize the feelings of others.

Important things to remember if you’re a Badger:

You may come across as rude or intimidating even if you don’t mean to. Be careful not to minimize or disrespect the feelings or opinions of others. You’re not always right.

Important things to remember if you’re in a relationship with a Badger:

Badgers have a deep need to get things done, so it is important that you support and respect their needs to accomplish their tasks. They will feel stifled and therefore disrespected if they feel you don’t believe they can do the job.

When talking to them, your point will get lost if you use too many words, they feel it is getting in their way of the next task on their list and will quickly lose patience. Therefore, to most effectively communicate with them, get to your point quickly. Answer WHAT’s the point?
