Mark JacobLICSW, PIP

Mark Jacob Mark Jacob has a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families work through their struggles. He has over 30 years of experience in the mental health field working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. He started his career working with foster children with the Department of Human Resources before going to work at the Mental Health Center. He has also worked at Decatur Morgan West for several years, and he enjoyed working with the team model that they utilized. He has lately taken on the role of being George's assistant.

Mark enjoys seeing a diverse group of clients ranging in age from early childhood to late adulthood. Although he has earned a strong reputation as an adolescent specialist and particularly enjoys helping teens navigate those difficult years, he also enjoys seeing all ages as well as working with couples in marriage counseling.

Mark and his wife of 20 plus years enjoy growing in their faith and spending time with their family; and they are proud grandparents. He has also thoroughly enjoyed mission work both locally and abroad. He has a heart to reach out to those in need of hope and show them the mercy of Jesus. He and his wife have been Sunday School teachers at First Baptist for 3rd grade for over twenty years and has been one of the drivers for the Go-Bus ministry.

Mark obtained his Bachelor's of Arts in psychology at The University of Alabama. He then earned his Masters in Social Work, his LICSW and his PIP.
