Under the supervision of Jay Byham, LPC-S
My interest in working in the field of counseling began at a young age. I have had a diversity of clinical experience in psychological research and community mental health settings that have influenced the way I see the world, and moreover the healing powers of God. Personally, I have sought the help of a therapist in difficult times in my own life and know the importance of having a supportive professional walk alongside you.
As a follower of Jesus, my faith deeply shapes my passion for loving, respecting, and caring for others. My approach centers on respecting and seeking to understand every client as an individual - regardless of background, identity, past experiences, or current goals. I integrate a variety of therapeutic modalities including dialectical behavior therapy skills, like mindfulness and distress tolerance, and narrative therapy techniques into my practice. Above all else as a counselor, I strive to create an inclusive, non-judgmental space and my hope is to make every client feel genuinely welcomed, heard, and valued.
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from Mississippi State University and a master's in clinical mental health counseling from the University of West Alabama. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, and family. I enjoy cooking, gardening, crocheting, or hanging out with beloved dog and cat - Copper and Rory.
