Dr. Joe BeltranPsyD

Joe Beltran Having worked as a counselor/therapist since 1974, starting while in the U.S. Navy, I went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from San Diego State University in 1980 and a Master of Arts degree in family, marriage, and child counseling in 1982. My wife, son, and I moved to Alabama to complete my doctorate in clinical psychology in 1990.

Since then I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as teaching college psychology for 10-12 years. My passion regarding mental health services is fueled by the awareness that good mental health is a critical aspect of everyone’s life.

I am also fluent in Spanish, which is my second language.

Encompassing all of my life’s work and passion to help others, is the overarching presence of my Christian faith which has been my guiding force. Using the gifts God has provided, I feel a great privilege and responsibility to assist people in improving the quality of their lives, whether counseling children, adolescents, adult populations or providing psychological assessments and consultations.

In my personal life, I enjoy God’s grace with my wife of 42 years, cycling with my son, and serving my church.
